Karolína Kristína Chorváth
Karolína Kristína Chorváth is a Czechoslovak-American writer, trauma practitioner, and Master’s Candidate in Counseling and Psychology with a specialization in Trauma Studies at Lesley University. Her studies are particularly focused on CPTSD, the healing impacts of nature, therapeutic uses of storytelling, and decolonizing mental health services.
Karolína has facilitated trauma-informed events since 2020 with organizations like Chronicon and Soft Space Wellness. After being diagnosed with CPTSD and as someone who has lived with chronic illness and disability for most of her life, she has devoted her energy to empower others living with chronic physical and mental illnesses to find ways to understand their bodies and soothe their symptoms.
She has been involved in several policy advocacy efforts at both the state and federal level for issues such as drug pricing, medical nutrition, medication patents, and played an integral role in passing Step Therapy Reform in Massachusetts.
Karolína is the author of "Self-care for Spoonies: A Guide to Thriving with Chronic Illness" and a lifelong storyteller. In more recent years, she was a Teaching Fellow of Public Narrative: Leadership, Storytelling, and Action at Harvard’s Kennedy School. Karolína is former journalist and digital editor where she worked at places like PRX The World and The Groundtruth Project.
Outside of working as a trauma-informed facilitator, Karolína creates poetry, prose, and sculpture that ruminate on themes of chronic illness, beauty, grief, and possibility. Through her poetry, Chorváth shares deeply personal moments which describe healing alongside ecological beauty, intimacy with the self and the other, and the relationship between oneself and their body. She was hosted for the month of July 2026 at the Greenhut Artist Residency in Harvard MA which finished with an exhibition where her work was featured.

Some words from Karolina on her Workshops and Meditation spaces:
I’ve been a trauma practitioner for several years now and have predominantly worked on trauma-informed workshops, often focused on folks with chronic illness/disability. I’ve been certified by Harvard Med and am deep in my masters/licensing program to become a LMHC with a specialization in trauma. All of this to say, I come to you with experience and tools to help you learn to feel safe, empowered, and present in your body.
As someone who has lived with chronic illness and disability since I was 7 years old, I personally know that is no easy feat. I have also been living with CPTSD for many years and underwent trauma treatment during the pandemic.
I know firsthand that being in our bodies can bring up an array of emotions and experiences. I invite you to come as you are. Perhaps you’re looking to deepen your connection with your body.
Perhaps even the idea of being present in your body is terrifying. No matter where you fall on the spectrum, all are welcome. I hope to work with you to give you several tools to practice when uncomfortable or seemingly unsafe feelings arise.
